Marouane Fellaini could be set for a shock move to Italian giants Roma, according to reports.
The Manchester United midfielder has rejected two new contract offers and is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer.
Roma officials have opened talks with Fellaini’s representatives and the midfielder has indicated his interest in the move, according to the Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi’s director of sport Monchi has reportedly been a long-term admirer of the Belgium international.
Fellaini will be out of contract with United this summer and his agent has already received some offers from interested clubs.
Juventus, Besiktas, Inter Milan and Galatasaray are among the sides scrambling for his signature.
But the 30-year-old is against the idea of playing in Turkey, and reportedly snubbed a £150,000-a-week offer from Fatih Terim’s side.
Fellaini, who joined the Reds for £27.5million from Everton in 2013, has rejected two new contract proposals.
He turned down a 12-month extension in September, and he has now snubbed another offer from club chairman Ed Woodward.
Jose Mourinho is keen to keep hold of the experienced central midfielder, but they are unable to agree on a new deal.
Fellaini is expected to run down his current contract at Old Trafford, before deciding which offer to take in the summer.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has also refused to renew his contract with the Premier League giants.
