Patrice Evra has revealed a nasty wound he suffered during West Ham’s 4-1 defeat by Liverpool on Saturday.
The defender posted a picture of the gash on his leg — which required three stitches — on Twitter on Sunday morning.
He wrote alongside the image: ‘Not a good result but I am very happy to be back in the @premierleague. I have missed this game and these tackles! #3stitches #ILoveThisGame’
The former Manchester United defender made his Hammers debut after the Premier League side handed him a lifeline less than three months after he was sacked by Marseille for aiming a kung-fu kick at an abusive fan.
However the West Ham defence was unable to keep the Reds’ front three at bay as Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane all scored after Emre Can opened the scoring.
