Antonio Conte hinted he was unhappy with Eden Hazard’s workrate – after saying why he took Chelsea’s main man off in Sunday’s 2-1 loss at Manchester United.
The Blues’ chief’s decision stoked a Twitter furore as some fans claimed Conte’s action summed up his failings this season.
Conte confirmed Hazard was replaced by Pedro on 73 minutes for tactical reasons and was uninjured.
The Italian said: “We have to keep the same performance for for 90 minutes, and we didn’t have a great balance.
“Every single player has to work with the ball and without the ball.”
Chelsea, meanwhile, stay fifth – two points adrift of Tottenham and the Champions League places.
