Alex Song is leaving Arsenal to go on trial at Real Betis, according to reports in Spain.
The ex-Gunners midfielder was training back with the Premier League side after getting released by previous club Rubin Kazan.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger welcomed the holding-midfielder back to London Colney to stay fit but did not offer him a contract.
At the start of February, when Song was first spotted back at Arsenal’s London Colney base, Wenger said: “He is looking for a new club.
“I allowed him to come in to work on his fitness. Nothing more than that.”
Russian side Kazan reportedly hit money trouble and were unable to pay Song’s wages so he was free to leave.
The former Cameroon international was initially at the club between 2005 and 2012, making over 200 appearances.
Song will see friendly faces as soon as he arrives with former Barcelona team-mate Marc Bartra and Christian Tello.
