Arsenal held their final training session before this weekend’s north London derby on Friday as Arsene Wenger’s men got ready to face Tottenham at Wembley.
The game will be a first London derby for £56million January signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who appeared to be in a very relaxed mood on the eve of the clash.
Former Borussia Dortmund forward Aubameyang wore a playful grin for much of Friday’s session at London Colney.
The 28-year-old appeared comfortable in the company of Alexandre Lacazette — a good sign for Gunners fans hoping to see the pair form a strike partnership.
Aubameyang also smiled his way through an exchange with manager Wenger, who is hoping to oversee a first Premier League double over Spurs in four seasons.
Striker Aubameyang wore long sleeves, gloves and a hat as Arsenal worked out in Hertfordshire, where the temperature was hovering around 4°C.
Mesut Ozil, who will be tasked with creating chances for Aubameyang, snubbed the hat but both players were seen covering their faces with their snoods.
Arsenal’s players were transported from their training pitch back to the clubhouse via a large golf cart.
Wenger will hope that a victory on Saturday will give his sixth-placed side the boost they need to begin a serious drive up the Premier League table.
