West Ham are in talks to sign kung fu bad-boy Patrice Evra due to Arthur Masuaku’s six-match ban for spitting.
Former Manchester United left-back Evra, 36, is a free agent after being sacked by Marseille for booting one of his own fans in the head.
The incident happened before a Europa League match against Vitoria Guimaraes on November 3.
And Evra was suspended by Uefa until the end of June and fined nearly £9,000.
But he Frenchman will be able to play in the Premier League – as the ban relates to European competition, not domestic football.
And he is wanted by Hammers manager David Moyes to ease the club’s injury crisis.
He would fill the gap left by Masuaku and will have a medical today.
The move for Senegal-born Evra comes days after the club sacked director of recruitment Tony Henry over alleged discrimination towards African players.
