Chelsea Legend Didier Drogba Trains In A Mask As He Prepares For First Pre-Season In Four Years

Former Ivory Coast international Didier Drogba has trained in a mask as he endures his first pre-season training in four years.

The Chelsea legend showed off his fitness – and had it checked – as he ran on a treadmill.

Drogba wore a mask which covered his face, and a heart monitor across his chest as he worked out, in a post shared with his 1.4million Twitter followers. The video was liked by over 900 followers on the social network.

The 39-year-old, who is a co-owner at Phoenix Rising, revealed his excitement for the impending season.

The former Chelsea forward coupled the snap with a caption that read: “Running into the USL soccer new season like this!!!

“About to start my first preseason since 4 years so no need to tell Phoenix Rising fans it’s gonna be a great one.”

The news that Drogba hasn’t completed any pre-season training in so long may come as a surprise to Rising supporters who saw Drogba join their side last season.

The American team are due to kick off their friendly schedule against New York Red Bull on Saturday.

Drogba scored 10 goals in 14 games for Phoenix.
