Benjamin Mendy has taken to social media to show some nasty-looking scars from the knee injury that has derailed his first season in England.
Mendy joined Manchester City from Monaco in the summer and impressed in the early months of the season following his £52million move.
Disaster struck though as he ruptured the cruciate ligament in his right knee against Crystal Palace in September and was forced to undergo surgery in Spain.
The Frenchman took to Instagram to reveal the damage that has been done, posting a short clip of him attending a medical session.
The scars can be seen on the outside of his knee and Mendy appeared to be building his strength up as he tensed his muscles in the video.
Pep Guardiola’s side have not been too affected by Mendy’s absence as Fabian Delph has proved himself to be an able deputy.
The converted midfielder has filled in well at the back as City have built a 15-point lead at the top of the Premier League and are on an 18-game winning run.
