The Nigeria international John Ogu is over the moon following his side 2-0 victory over Ludogorets Razgrad on Wednesday.
Hapoel Beer Sheva defeated Bulgarian champions Ludogorets Razgrad 2-0 in the first leg of the third qualifying round of UEFA Champions League at Turner Stadium.
The midfielder took to his twitter handle to show his delight and posted pictures with a caption: ”Great result against a good side but we won’t get carried away knowing we have to go to Bulgaria .Proud of my team mates and fans for all!.”
Two Nigerians were in action for Hapoel Beer Sheva yesterday, John Ogu and Anthony Nwakaeme. Nwakaeme was on target in Hapoel Be’er Sheva 2-0 victory over Ludogorets Razgrad.
The forward powered his side ahead in the 19th minute of the encounter before Michael Ohana guaranteed victory with 11 minutes left to play.
Beersheba will travel Bulgaria ahead of the return leg in Razgrad next week.
Beersheba is aiming to reach the Champions League group stage for the first time in club history after missing out by a single goal last season, losing to Celtic of Scotland 5-4 on aggregate in the final playoff round.
